Travel Agency
I started out playing accordian and when my older brother started playing drums I of course had to get involved with a band.  This was back in 1964, so I bought a bass guitar. In 1966 my brother went into the army and the band I was in broke up. That is when I met Ed Golisch (lead guitar), Wayne Adams Jr. (drums) and Mike Chevell (guitar).  Along with me, of course (Bill Gradisher on bass), we became The Travel Agency.

We stayed current with songs being played on the radio by groups like The Shadows of Knight, Kingsmen, Rolling Stones and of course The Beatles. I wanted to write a song that was like 'Louie Louie' but with cleaner verses so I just started with some verses and put some music to it and it and finally put the whole song ('Jailbait') together in just a few hours.

Ed and I then needed to write a song for the B-side and we wrote 'Hard Times.'  We didn't write any other songs or made any other recordings and we never were on TV. We just played local gigs.

We broke up in 1968 when I went into the Navy and went to Vietnam. The best experience of those days is the current time in my life that after all these years there is so much interest in the garage gock sound of unknown bands and what that era of so many bands at that time means to so many people.

'Jailbait' by The Travel Agency is now 44 years old. Amazing...and there are people still listening to it. I thank everyone for that.
